In 1905 Abraham Angel was born in El Oro, Mexico as the youngest of five children. In 1907, Ángel’s family moved to Puebla until his father’s promotion led them to Mexico City. Ángel lost contact with much of his family, with the exception of his eldest brother. Ángel sometimes went by his second, maternal last-name, Card.
Not much is known of Ángel’s early years in Mexico City, except that he left home in 1922 to surround himself with stimulating, artistic friends. Among these friends was painter, Rodriguez Lozano. |
