Antoine Berjon was a
French Romantic painter who was born in Lyon. He left
Lyon for Paris during the Revolution and later became a
professor of drawing at the School of Art in Lyon. He
mainly painted still life compositions of flowers, and
also created a vast number of drawings. He spent the
last years of his life as a recluse, painting and
drawing in his home and leaving a large oeuvre behind
him. |
