Gregoire Boonzaaire was one of South Africa’s leading Impressionist painters. Considered to be the Van Gogh of South Africa, Boonzaaier was known for his landscapes and still life paintings. He was a founding member of the New Group, and was known for his part in the struggle against apartheid through art.
