Giovanni di Paolo was 15th century, Italian painter of the Sienese School. It is believed that Di Paolo apprenticed with Taddeo di Bartolo, though his later work was influenced by the Gothic painters such as Gentile da Fabriana. He was a prolific painter and illustrator of manuscripts, including Dante's texts.
