François-Xavier-Pascal Fabre was an 18 th century French painter who studied under Jacques-Louis David. He moved to Paris at the age of 17 and studied at the Academie Royale Peinture et de Sculpture. In 1787, he won the Prix de Rome, which allowed him to study in Italy . Thereafter, he spent much of the rest of his life in Florence.
