The Gasciogne Family
Francis Hayman was an 18th century English painter and illustrator. He was one of the founding members of the Royal Academy , and was also its first official librarian. He was born in Devon and initially began his career as a set painter for London 's Drury Lane Theater.

Hayman was highly influenced by the French Rococo style, and was equally gifted painting portraits, landscapes and genre and history scenes.
