Born in Lima in 1851, Albert Lynch studied art at L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris and in the studios of the figure painters Gabriel Ferrier and Henri Lehmann and the landscape painter Jules Noel. He exhibited at the Salon from 1890 and was awarded a third class medal in that year, a first class medal in 1892, and a gold medal in 1900 at the Exposition Universelle.
