Andrea Solari (also Solario) was an Italian Renaissance painter. Initially named Andre del Gobbo, he was one of the most important followers of Leonardo da Vinci, and brother of Cristoforo Solari, who gave him his first training. One can note the influence of da Vinci and the similarity to his famed “Mona Lisa” in the way that Solari painted his portraits and incorporated landscape in the background.
