Professor Chantal Beauvalot, a Philosophy and Art History graduate, lives in France and is presently working as an Honorary Professor in Philosophy. She has devoted the past 10 years studying and researching the French painter Paul Albert Besnard (1849-1934) and the period of his work.
After completing her master’s degree on the topic of Albert Besnard and the Theme of Death, she earned a Ph.D. at the University of Paris-Nanterre while defending her thesis entitled, Albert Besnard, A Vocation For Design.
As an active member of the association, Le Temps d’Albert Besnard, founded in 2003 and directed by Pierre Rosenberg of the Academie Francaise, Honorary Director of the Louvre Museum, Professor Beauvalot helped organize the exhibition, Albert Besnard in India, at Philippe and Anne Heim’s gallery in Paris. She also organized tours of various Parisian buildings decorated by Albert Besnard, including the first arrondissement Town Hall, the Faculte de Pharmacy (Pharmacy University), and the Petit Palais Museum. She also gave a number of conferences on the artist.
Professor Beauvalot has written several articles on Besnard and his works. She is now preparing a catalogue of Besnard’s works, as well as his biography. |
