Philippe Auguste Hennequin was an 18th century French painter. Hennequin proved to be a talented painter as a young man, and after winning the Prix de Rome, Hennequin studied in Italy . However, political strife in the country shortly brought him back to Paris . Once back in France , Hennequin was caught up in the French Revolution and was imprisoned.
