While Hove worked with a range of media she is best remembered for printmaking. She used a variety of techniques, including etching, drypoint, aquatint, chine collé, etc. Her prints combined the elements of her drawings and paintings, showing flat areas of color with more sketch-like, intuitive markings.

Hove had an extensive career. She exhibited in numerous galleries around the world and was a member of various groups. For ten years she was president of the KIMIK group, as well as a member of Koloristerne, a Danish association. Many of her illustrations were used on postage stamps for a contemporary art series.

Hove’s work continued to develop throughout her life. In addition to her more iconic graphic work and illustrations, she made a number of sculptures. These ranged from more traditional Inuit carvings out of soapstone, to sleeker more contemporary installations.
