Marco Benefial was an 18th century Italian painter. He painted in the Neo-Classical style and lived and worked most of his life in Rome. He created a number of altarpieces, and mainly painted religious subjects.
Benefial is remembered in art history for bringing back a return of classical foundations in Italian painting, reminiscent of that of Carracci and Raphael. Today his work is housed all over the world, and perhaps in your own home.
