Trained in a variety of techniques, Mudist created a wide body of work. While his early work was more traditional his later work became increasingly abstract. His paintings in the 1970s were mostly representational, showing figures painted in a soft and almost dreamlike. Mudist’s figures are often surrounded by bold, solid colors. Mudist’s later works are equally colorful but much looser and less figurative. While his later works are more abstract he did a series of flowers and landscape paintings.
