Olaf Wieghorst was an early 20th century Western American painter. Known for his magnificent portrayals of the American West, Wieghorst was one of the most talented artists of his genre. Wieghorst showed a great love and respect for Native Americans and cowboys of his era, and this fact is echoed in his paintings.

Throughout his career, Wieghorst painted landscapes, portraits and more, leaving behind a massive oeuvre of paintings sketches and drawings. Many of these paintings are signed with a very recognizable “O. Wieghorst” on the lower right hand corner of the front of his paintings and are housed in prestigious collections, such as The Whitney Museum. Wieghorst’s works are in high demand and are considered to be very collectible.
